Meet Anacristina Gonzalez-Martinez
Anacristina Gonzalez-Martinez, senior at NMC High School, was awarded a $2,000 Girls Inc. Lucile Miller Wright
Scholarship.
Anacristina has been part of Girls Inc. since elementary school and is now in her second year as a Girls Inc. Intern. Over the years, she has grown from a quiet, unsure young girl into a confident leader who embraces her voice, her strengths, and her identity. Her journey reflects the transformative power of sisterhood, mentorship, and safe spaces where girls are encouraged to rise. She shares: “I joined Girls Inc. seven years ago and I didn’t realize how much it would shape me. I was shy, soft spoken, and unsure of who I was. I used to think confidence was something people were just born with, something I never really had. Surrounded by girls who celebrated and cheered when someone took a rise or spoke up, changed that for me. It taught me that confidence is something I build a few shaky moments at a time.
